VIRTUAL SET DESIGN Fantasy Story, Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University long plays festival, April 2019.

Fantasy Story is an adaptation of the novel 'The NeverEnding Story' by Michael Ende. The majority of the play is set in a fantasy world, events run in various and diverse locations. Which would have been impossible to construct on minimally equipped stage - as is the case in the majority of Egyptian theatres -, with the inadequacy of the budget, if not for CGI and LED screens. Digital technology allowed me to design a plethora of locations and transition from one to another in an instant, furthermore, break the stasis in the design - which contradicts the dynamicity of the performance - using the moving image to tap into the fourth dimension of design.
